2025’s Most-Loved Home Décor Trends: Natural Materials & Flooring

Posted on November 25th, 2025

As we come to the end of 2025, the world of home décor (and especially flooring home trends) is displaying a lovely and grounded shift: one that celebrates natural materials, artisanal texture and a story behind what we bring into our homes. Below, we explore five of the most popular interior design trends for the year, and how you can bring them into your own space.

Warm Minimalism with Earthy Neutrals

Minimalism isn’t going away, but in 2025 it’s evolving. Rather than crisp whites and cool greys, we’re seeing neutral palettes shift into warmer territory: stone, oatmeal, soft beige, and gentle browns are replacing sterility with a more inviting calm.

In this trend, the floor plays a foundational role: light neutral carpets in soft beige and cream, and matte finishes, anchor the space, while furniture and accessories remain pared back. The result is a room that feels both clear and cosy.

Biophilic Design & Natural Textures

Connecting with nature remains one of the most potent sources of design inspiration in 2025. Biophilic design emphasises bringing the outdoors in, not just via plants and greenery, but through natural materials, textures and laid-back authenticity.

Natural fibre carpet runners and textiles (wool, linen, jute) layered over wood or stone flooring enhance tactile richness. The aim is to create a restorative, inviting space, rather than a purely show-home look.

Return to Natural Fibres: Knowing Where Things Come From

A key theme in 2025 is material provenance: homeowners are increasingly asking “Where does this come from?” and favouring items with a story. Natural fibres are enjoying a resurgence for this reason.

Similarly, linen upholstery, hemp textiles and other naturally-derived materials are valued for their durability, texture and sustainability credentials. This shift means you’re not just buying something that looks good, you’re investing in something with character, longevity and eco-awareness.

Craftsmanship, Natural Finishes & Authenticity

Another prominent trend: the value of craft, natural finishes, and authenticity. Real finishes, matte wood, raw or lightly treated leather, wool carpets, and hand-woven textiles, are prized for their ability to age gracefully and show character. Wool-rich carpets in natural tones are expected to be more in demand.

Finishes are moving away from high-gloss, high-shine surfaces and towards natural matte or soft sheens that emphasise texture and materiality. This emphasis gives interiors a slower-living, more considered feel, which aligns with the broader culture’s shift towards sustainability and fulsome design.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to ask for natural finishes: “Is the carpet made from pure wool or wool-rich blend?”

The Rise of Natural Finishes in Flooring & Soft Furnishings

Flooring in 2025 hasn’t been just about style; it’s about the feel, the origin and the finish. Wool carpets, rich in natural fibres, are having a comeback because they deliver warmth underfoot, texture, durability, and a softer touch. For example, wool-rich carpets are shifting toward organic colours and tactile surfaces.

Combining a wool rug or carpet, untreated or lightly finished wood flooring, linen upholstery, and other natural-fibre elements creates a space that is layered, alive, and enduring.

Tip: For flooring, opt for a wool or wool blend carpet in a natural palette. For soft furnishings: go for linen curtains, hand-woven rugs and baskets made of jute or sisal. The tactile differences will add depth to your room.

A First Look at Our New In-Store Display Solutions

Posted on November 18th, 2025

We’re excited to share something we’ve been working on behind the scenes at Causeway Carpets, a fresh collection of in-store displays created especially for quality flooring retailers. If you love telling the story of how a carpet goes from fibre to floor, these new units are designed to help you bring that journey to life right there in your showroom.

At Causeway Carpets, we take real pride in crafting carpets with character, beauty and unmistakable quality. Now, independent retailers and buying group members can showcase that story more easily than ever with a suite of point-of-sale displays built to suit a wide range of shop layouts. Each one reflects our ambition to champion classic design that feels right at home in modern living.

Compact Display Unit

The Compact Display Unit is perfect for retailers that want to introduce Causeway Carpets. At just 520mm wide and 540mm deep, it’s small but mighty. It holds up to four ranges of samples plus pattern books. And because it’s designed to work in multiples, they can place units inline or even back-to-back if you’d like to build out the display.

Multi Display Unit

For retailers with a little more space, the Multi Display Unit gives the brand presence. It houses samples from eight collections in the main display area and includes a handy pull-out lower shelf. It still only takes up 1000mm x 550mm of space. The Multi Display unit can also be paired with the compact units to create a visually impressive display wall.

Premium Finish, Tailored for Stores

Both units are finished in a premium wood veneer with our signature blue-and-gold branding front and centre. An instant nod to the luxury of our wool and polyester carpets. Each display can be customised to suit your customer base. It means retailers can introduce Causeway Carpets in a way that feels curated, relevant and unique to their store.

Richard Moore, our commercial director, summed it up perfectly when he said:

Our new displays have been designed to provide the ideal entry into the quality and luxury of Causeway Carpets. Crafted to reflect our market position as a desirable, aspirational brand, they bring a premium finish that stands out on any shop floor and draws attention to the beauty of our ranges.
