Wool Is Resilient
Unlike any other fibre, wool has a natural crimp and after footfall, bounces back to its original shape. It is resistant to flattening and any effects of tracking and shading are reduced, thus maintaining an excellent surface appearance over several years.
Wool Is Easy to Clean
Wool has an extra protective membrane of microscopic scales which repels water and locks out liquids longer, providing ample time to mop up spillages. Prompt attention to household spillages with clean white paper towels or cloth will address many such problems.
Wool Is Naturally Fire Resistant
Drop a lighted match onto a wool carpet and it will smoulder and self extinguish within seconds as there is insufficient oxygen to support a fire. Wool is a much favoured firesafe fibre in hotels and other commercial locations for this very reason.
Wool Breathes
Wool is a ‘smart’ fibre and has an amazing ability to breath regulating the atmosphere in the home. It also acts as a filter by absorbing many harmful airborne compounds including dust, binding them into the fibre away from the air we breathe.
Wool Is Sustainable and Biodegradable
Wool is a gift of nature! Sheep are necessarily sheared annually providing this wonderful and sustainable resource. It is also biodegradable in soil and provides an abundance of plant nutrients.
Wool Is Comfortable
Soft underfoot and adding comfort, warmth and sound insulation to the home, wool acts as an insulator improving heat retention and energy efficiency.
